F.A.Q. - AP-SCAN - Boundary Scan Software

Is the Target board powered by the AP-114 programmer?
Not usually. It would normally be expected that the target board is powered by its own external power supply (our demonstration board that comes with the JTAG training Platform uses a direct USB connection).

However, we have now introduced an option to supply power from the AP-114. From within the AP-SCAN software, go to Tools\AP-114 Setup you see there is now an option to apply power to the target. If you add pin 12 on the AP-114 Port 1 (Red cable) to the Vcc line, you can then set a max voltage of 3V3. Note that this is only active during sampling.

Please remove resistor R50 from the board. The TCLK signal is being loaded with a 120R resistor and this is too much for AP114 - once removed it is fine, and there will be no issues with the board operation.
